Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Convention center in Liliendaal, Georgetown, Guyana
Arthur Chung Conference Centre is a convention building in Liliendaal, Georgetown, located near the Caribbean Community Secretariat headquarters. The main hall accommodates about 500 people and features movable partitions that can divide the space into five separate rooms, while additional conference spaces support various event sizes.
The facility was originally built in 2006 as the Guyana International Conference Centre and renamed in 2015 to honor Guyana's first president. This name change marked recognition of its role in hosting national events and international gatherings.
The conference center represents a connection between Guyana and China, reflecting international cooperation through its construction and maintenance agreements.
Access is best through the main entrances, and visitors should check in upon arrival or make arrangements beforehand. The flexible interior layouts mean the facility works well for groups of different sizes and types of events.
During the 2020-2021 health crisis, the building served as a temporary meeting location for Guyana's National Assembly to maintain physical distancing protocols. This demonstrated the venue's adaptability beyond its regular conference functions.
