Archbold's Castle, Medieval castle in Dalkey, Ireland.
This three-story fortified warehouse features rubble masonry walls, lancet windows, and a defensive machicolation above the entrance doorway.
Built around 1390 by merchants to protect stored goods, the castle represents one of seven fortified structures that once protected the maritime trade in Dalkey.
The castle changed ownership from the Chevers family to the Allen family and Sir William Mayne, reflecting the social dynamics of medieval Irish nobility.
Located 60 meters west of Goat Castle, this national monument stands as one of two remaining medieval fortifications in the Dalkey area.
The structure served as the Dalkey Town Hall and council chamber from 1890 to 1930, when the town merged with Dún Laoghaire borough.
