Sarahiya House, Jaffa

Sarahiya House is a two-story administrative building in Jaffa's historic quarter featuring a neoclassical facade. It continues to function as a municipal center and shapes the character of the old city.

The house was built in 1897 by an architect trained in Berlin and originally served as the Ottoman governor's residence. It later became the city's administrative center and has shaped the historic streetscape since.

The building shows how European design ideas were adapted for local administration and governance. Today it reflects how the city's institutions shaped daily life in this historic port district.
