Bhagwanpura

Bhagwanpura is an excavation site in Haryana containing layered remains of ancient residential complexes and courtyards. The artifacts recovered here, including carnelian jewelry and terracotta beads, are displayed in a museum located nearby for public viewing.

Excavations reveal habitation beginning around 1700 BCE with cultural transitions from late Harappan traditions to painted pottery phases. This period marks a significant shift in early Indian civilization's development.

The residents constructed oval structures during Sub-period IB, utilizing burnt bricks for what researchers identify as Vedic fire altar constructions.
