Manauli Fort

Manauli Fort is a state-protected fortification in Punjab that rises roughly 6 meters above village level. The structure features high stone walls with strategically positioned points from which the surrounding land could be monitored.

Nawab Kapur Singh built this fortification during a period when the Punjab region faced recurring conflicts. The structure played a defense role and was eventually recognized as a monument worthy of state protection.

The fortification displays construction methods developed in Punjab, with design solutions still visible in its stone walls today. Visitors can observe how builders applied defensive principles through practical building choices.

The fort sits roughly 11 kilometers from Mohali and is relatively easy to reach. Daytime visits work well, and visitors have clear views of the structure and surrounding landscape from ground level.

Palm trees grow within the fort grounds, creating an unusual contrast with its stone walls. This blending of vegetation and structure often surprises visitors as they walk around the site.
