Digambara Jaina Temple, Khandagiri

The Digambara Jaina Temple stands at the summit of Khandagiri hill, featuring three main structures with black stone and white marble religious statues.

King Kharavela commissioned the rock-cut caves near the temple site during the first century BCE, establishing a spiritual center for Jain practitioners.

The temple houses numerous Tirthankara images, including a substantial black stone statue of Parshvanatha and a white marble representation of Mahavira.

Located 10 kilometers from Bhubaneswar railway station and 6 kilometers from the airport, the temple receives visitors throughout the year.

The temple complex incorporates thirty-three caves across Khandagiri and Udayagiri hills, featuring ancient inscriptions in Brahmi script and detailed animal carvings.
