The park was established in 2007 by the Lucknow Development Authority and honors Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, a major socialist leader in Indian politics. Its creation was part of efforts to recognize important figures in Indian history.

The entrance displays paintings from Dr. Lohia's life, while a semi-circular pathway shows engravings of quotes from important Indian leaders. These artistic elements let visitors connect with key figures from Indian history as they walk through the grounds.

The park is open during early morning through evening hours daily and features multiple pathways for different activities. Visitors can use the various entrance gates to access different areas based on where they want to begin their walk or exercise.

The park features a specialized 100-meter acupressure track that runs alongside traditional pathways, offering visitors an alternative wellness experience. This unusual addition combines traditional healing concepts with modern recreational design.
