Canadian Centre for Architecture, Architectural museum and research center in Downtown Montreal, Canada

The Canadian Centre for Architecture combines a contemporary building with the restored Shaughnessy House mansion, creating a 130,000-square-foot architectural complex with exhibition spaces.

Phyllis Lambert established the institution in 1979, transforming an 1874 Victorian mansion into a center dedicated to architectural research and preservation.

Through exhibitions, publications, and educational initiatives, the center examines the relationship between architecture, society, and the evolving patterns of urban development.

The facility includes research libraries, exhibition galleries, a bookstore, and study areas, with access to extensive collections of architectural documents and photographs.

The center maintains over 100,000 architectural drawings, prints, and models, documenting the evolution of construction methods from the Renaissance to present day.
