Sir Charles Tupper Building
Sir Charles Tupper Building, Government building at Riverside Drive, Canada
The Sir Charles Tupper Building consists of five interlocking rectangular blocks arranged in a stair-like pattern, reaching four to five stories in height.
Constructed between 1955 and 1960, the building initially served as the headquarters for the Department of Public Works during Canada's post-war government expansion.
The structure exemplifies International Style architecture with its flat roofs, curtain wall construction, and combination of grey and colored exterior panels.
Located at 2720 Riverside Drive in Ottawa, the building covers 31,260 square meters of floor space and includes large windows for natural light.
The main entrance features granite columns and a plate glass wall with a revolving door, connecting to a split-level hall with polished stone floors.
