Chongzuo City, Administrative center in southwestern Guangxi, China

Chongzuo is an administrative center in southwestern Guangxi with a large territory marked by karst formations, mountains, and the confluence of the Zuo and You rivers. The landscape is defined by dramatic rocky outcrops rising from the terrain.

The region became part of Xiang Shire during the Qin Dynasty in 221 BC. Archaeological discoveries at Zhirendong Cave reveal that humans inhabited these lands for over 100,000 years.

The Double Third Festival happens on the third day of the third lunar month, featuring folk song competitions and ancestral ceremonies practiced by Zhuang communities. These celebrations remain central to local identity and shape how people gather throughout the year.

The city connects to Vietnamese railways at Youyi Pass in Pingxiang, making it an important border crossing point. The nearest airport sits in Nanning and offers the best arrival option for those coming from afar.

The region produces a substantial share of China's sugar output and holds significant manganese reserves. These natural resources have shaped the area's economic development and made it an important industrial hub in the region.
