Qi'ao Bridge

Qi'ao Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing the Pearl River to link Zhuhai on the mainland with Qi'ao Island. The structure features two tall towers that hold cables supporting the road deck, which carries both cars and pedestrians across the water.

The bridge was built in the late 1990s and opened a new transportation link between the mainland and surrounding islands in the region. Its completion changed how people and goods moved across the Pearl River.

The bridge design incorporates rectangular tower sections and parallel single-cell box decks, reflecting Chinese engineering principles in modern infrastructure.

The bridge has multiple lanes for traffic in both directions plus walkways on the sides for pedestrians. Traffic can be heavy during peak times, especially during morning and evening commutes.

The bridge structure includes 44 pairs of stay cables and features a deck that curves with a precise 12-kilometer radius.
