Dr. Sun Yat Sen Municipal Park

Dr. Sun Yat-sen Municipal Park is a sprawling green space in Nossa Senhora de Fátima featuring an artificial lake, winding bridges, pavilions, and sports facilities spread across the grounds. A library and various gardens are integrated throughout, offering visitors different zones to explore.

The park was created in 1987 on the site of a former landfill, transforming the land into a public green space through careful redevelopment. A bronze statue honoring the Chinese revolutionary leader was installed in 1990 to mark his legacy.

The park blends Eastern and Western design in its layout and structures. Visitors can wander through a feng shui forest and a Victorian greenhouse, both reflecting the cultural meeting of two worlds.

The grounds are open daily from early morning until late evening, with plenty of pathways for walking and different activity areas throughout. The Wong Ieng Kuan Library located on the property has limited hours, so it is worth checking before planning a visit to use it.

A striking steel sculpture titled Forever Handshake stands in the park as a symbol of the historical bond between China and Portugal. This artwork reminds visitors of the special relationship between the two nations that shaped Macau's unique story.
