St. Mark's School, secondary school in Hong Kong
St. Mark's School is a secondary institution in the Eastern District of Hong Kong located near Aldrich Bay with a modern campus. The facility features well-lit and orderly classrooms, science laboratories, computer rooms, a library, and sports facilities spread across approximately 5700 square meters, with around 35 students per class.
Founded in 1949 as St. Paul's English PM School in Central Hong Kong, it was renamed St. Mark's School in 1953. The institution relocated to Shaukeiwan Road in 1956 and moved to its current spacious campus in Aldrich Bay in 2001, where it has operated since.
The school carries the name of St. Mark and displays his winged lion symbol on its crest as a mark of courage and spirit. Navy blue is woven into daily school life through uniforms and official events, creating a visual identity throughout the campus. The five named houses compete in tournaments and activities throughout the year, fostering team bonds and belonging among students.
Instruction takes place primarily in English with additional subjects like Chinese language, history, and religious education taught in Chinese. The campus is well-equipped with various learning spaces including laboratories and sports facilities, allowing students to develop skills across academic and physical activities.
The school has its own parish church, the Holy Nativity Church, which provides religious activities and support for students and staff. This direct connection between the school and a dedicated place of worship distinguishes this institution from many other secondary schools in the area.
