Shek Kip Mei Public Library

Shek Kip Mei Public Library is a public library occupying the seventh floor of an ancillary facilities building in Sham Shui Po and covers approximately 860 square meters. The facility houses roughly 70,000 items along with about 100 newspapers and periodicals.

The library opened in 2014 and replaced an earlier facility serving the area. The move occurred to better meet the growing demands of the local community.

The library serves a diverse community with materials in multiple languages, reflecting the needs of the neighborhood. It functions as a gathering place for learners and readers from across the district.

The facility is easily reached by MTR station or several bus routes. Visitors should check opening hours in advance online to confirm the library is available when they plan to visit.

Since opening, the number of registered borrowers has tripled and loan quantities have doubled compared to the previous facility. This growth demonstrates how much demand has increased for modern library services in the community.
