Meixihu

Meixihu International Culture and Art Centre is a large cultural facility beside Meixihu Lake that houses a contemporary art museum, performance theater, and event spaces with curved architectural forms. Connected walkways link the different buildings and lead to nearby parks and green areas.

The facility opened in 2017 as a new milestone in Changsha's cultural development, with additional spaces and facilities completed over the following years. This expansion reflected the city's growing focus on arts and public cultural experiences.

The center serves as a gathering place for the city, where local residents come to experience art exhibitions, theater performances, and public events that shape how people spend their leisure time. The open spaces and terraces become natural meeting points throughout the day and evening.

The center connects directly to the metro system and is easily accessible on foot from the lakeside with multiple entry points. Interior spaces are linked by broad level walkways that make navigation straightforward for visitors.

The buildings connect through generous outdoor courtyards that double as open-air sculpture galleries and quiet gathering spaces throughout the complex. These flowing designed spaces between structures give the center its distinctive feel.
