Former Residence of Lei Feng

The former residence displays three reconstructed thatched huts built in traditional rural style within Changsha. The structures show how dwellings of that period were designed and arranged.

The house originally arose during the Qing dynasty as a dwelling for a landowner. A notable young soldier lived there from his birth in 1940 until 1956, before he began his military service.

The site is named after Lei Feng, a figure whose life story draws visitors interested in understanding his role in modern China. People come here to connect with the history and values associated with his time.

The location sits outside the city center and requires transportation to reach it. Visitors should plan their travel time in advance and check opening times before arriving.

A five-meter statue of a notable soldier was created by sculptor Zhu Weijing and stands in the square next to the building. This monument is a striking feature visitors often photograph.
