Dahliengarten, Botanical garden in Gera, Germany
The garden displays over 2,200 dahlias from 100 different varieties, creating a colorful landscape during late summer months in Gera.
Established in 1928 on a former clay pit at the western edge of Gera, this garden became the first dedicated dahlia display space in the world.
The garden hosts an annual Dahlia Festival in September where visitors participate in selecting the most appealing dahlia variety among the exhibits.
Guided tours lasting 45 minutes begin at the Rathenau Straße entrance and end at the pavilion, with advance reservations required via email.
The garden includes dedicated wildlife spaces with nesting boxes, hedgehog homes, squirrel residences, and bee hotels to support local fauna.
