Heidbrink, Mountain summit in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Heidbrink is a mountain summit in the Wiehen Hills with an elevation of about 320 meters. A paved road climbs toward the transmission tower at the top, where marked hiking trails then lead into the surrounding forest.
In 2008, authorities replaced the original summit marker with a five-ton sandstone block bearing informational plaques about the mountain. This renewal made the landmark more visible for visitors.
The mountain forms part of the Wittekindsweg footpath, connecting multiple peaks from Osnabrück to Porta Westfalica through traditional German landscapes.
The ascent is easy to manage since the paved road reaches the transmission tower, and parking is available nearby. Visitors should wear good footwear as the forest trails can become slippery depending on weather conditions.
The sandstone block at the summit contains high concentrations of iron deposits, reflecting the geological character of the Wiehen Hills. This mineral composition is typical throughout the entire mountain region and gives it its reddish tint.
