Alte Kaffeerösterei

Alte Kaffeerösterei is an industrial complex with a main brick building from 1906 and several smaller structures showing early 20th-century factory design. The ensemble retains characteristic factory-style windows and rooflines that reflect the building methods and aesthetic of its original manufacturing period.

Ignaz Woestmann founded the facility in 1924 as a coffee roasting operation producing both coffee beans and malt coffee, until financial hardship forced closure in 1932. After decades serving other purposes, including shoe manufacturing in the 1970s, the building underwent major renovation and reopened in 2010.

The space now serves as a cultural hub where exhibitions and community gatherings celebrate the region's industrial past. Local residents and visitors connect here to explore shared memories of the area's manufacturing heritage.
