Enzianhütte, Mountain hut in Reith bei Seefeld, Germany.
The Enzianhütte is a mountain hut located at about 760 meters (2,500 feet) elevation with wood-paneled dining rooms and an outdoor terrace overlooking several mountain ranges. The building combines simple alpine architecture with practical facilities for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts.
The hut was established in 1953 and completely rebuilt after a fire, while maintaining its traditional mountain architecture. From this history, it developed into a reliable destination for mountain walkers in the area.
The dining rooms serve regional mountain dishes like Brettljause and smoked bacon made according to traditional recipes. Visitors experience the food culture of the Tyrolean Alps here, much as it has been for generations.
Access is via several marked trails from Wildsee and Gschwandtkopf areas, with paths clearly signposted throughout. Visitors should note that weather at this elevation can change quickly, and sturdy footwear is recommended.
The hut rents winter equipment and functions as both a summer hiking rest stop and a base for winter sports enthusiasts. This makes it a year-round destination that attracts completely different visitor groups depending on the season.
