Ree Park – Ebeltoft Safari, Safari park in Ebeltoft, Denmark
Ree Park – Ebeltoft Safari is a wildlife park on the Djursland peninsula housing over 800 animals from around 80 species across different continents. The grounds feature thematic zones where creatures live in naturalistic settings that reflect their home environments.
The site opened in 1991 as Ebeltoft Dyrepark and changed ownership several times before Karsten Ree took over in 2006 and reshaped it into its current form. This transition marked a turning point when the facility adopted its present direction and new identity.
The park reflects how visitors engage with wildlife observation and education through daily contact with animals in settings that resemble their natural homes. Family groups spend time together watching behavioral patterns that reveal how creatures live beyond captivity.
The grounds are extensive and best explored with good planning and enough time to see everything comfortably without rushing. Wear comfortable shoes and set aside several hours, since the different areas spread across the whole property.
Black bears here have specially designed habitats with tall trees and water features that allow natural behavior patterns to emerge. Cheetahs roam through hilly bush savannas where they can express their natural hunting behaviors.
