Kulturbro-Aalborg, Road bridge in Aalborg Municipality, Denmark
Kulturbro-Aalborg is a 414 meter road bridge connecting Aalborg and Nørresundby across the Limfjord, running alongside the western side of the railway bridge. The crossing features a red-colored structure designed for both pedestrians and cyclists to move freely between the two sides.
The project originated from a local association's initiative in 2005 and underwent extensive planning before completion in 2017. The bridge's opening transformed connectivity between the two waterfront areas of the fjord.
The red structure links the waterfronts of Aalborg West and Nørresundby, functioning as a social meeting point that brings together people from both sides of the fjord.
The bridge opens multiple times per hour during summer to permit ship passage, so pedestrians and cyclists should plan their crossings accordingly. Checking local opening schedules helps avoid unexpected delays.
Visitors commonly attach padlocks to the bridge's structure as symbols of affection, earning it the local nickname Bridge of Love among residents. This tradition has transformed the crossing into a symbol of human connection.
