The house was built in 1616 as the residence of Jørgen Olufsen, a merchant who would later serve in a leading civic position in Aalborg. Its location along the Østerå stream placed it in a desirable part of the city at that time.
The building combines Gothic and Renaissance styles, showing how wealthy merchants of the time displayed their success through architecture. The craftsmanship visible in its stonework and iron details reflects the prosperity and pride of Aalborg's merchant class during that era.
The building is located at Østerågade 25 and currently serves as a wine bar, restaurant, and creative writing school. Visitors can admire the exterior at any time and are welcome to enter and experience the spaces inside if they wish.
