Ahmed Shawki Museum, Literary museum in Giza, Egypt
The Ahmed Shawki Museum displays over 1,100 artifacts including manuscripts, photographs, medals, and personal belongings of the renowned Egyptian poet Ahmed Shawki.
The museum building, purchased by Ahmed Shawki in 1914, transformed from his residence named Karmat Ibn Hani into a national museum through a presidential decree in 1972.
The museum holds 332 books in its ground floor library, along with an audio collection featuring collaborations between Shawki and composer Mohammed Abdel Wahab.
Located on the Nile Corniche, the museum spans two floors with eleven rooms, including preserved living quarters and a bronze statue in the surrounding gardens.
The upper floor contains Shawki's original bedroom furniture, plus 713 manuscripts and oil paintings that document the life of Egypt's Prince of Poets.
