Iconic Tower, Skyscraper under construction in New Administrative Capital, Egypt
The Iconic Tower is a building under construction in Egypt's new administrative capital that features 77 floors housing offices, residences, and hotel spaces. The total area spans several hundred thousand square meters, divided among commercial zones and spaces for future occupants.
Work began in May 2018 with a concrete pouring ceremony held in 2019. By August 2021, the project had reached its maximum height, marking a major milestone in the construction process.
The name refers to the role this building plays in symbolizing the ambitions behind the new capital. Visitors can see geometric patterns on the facade that echo motifs found throughout Egyptian architectural tradition.
The site is located in the eastern part of the new administrative capital and can be reached via main roads leading into the new city districts. Since work is still ongoing, access to certain areas is restricted for visitors, so checking ahead is advisable.
This structure ranks as the tallest on the African continent, representing a turning point in regional high-rise development. The glass and steel facade reflects different light conditions throughout the day, creating shifting color tones across the exterior.
