CaixaForum Sevilla, Cultural center in Isla de La Cartuja, Spain.
CaixaForum Sevilla is an underground cultural center featuring two exhibition rooms, an auditorium, workshops, and a café with outdoor seating. The layout supports diverse cultural activities and includes administrative spaces for daily operations.
The center opened in 2017 through the transformation of a former parking structure into a modern cultural space. This conversion repurposed an unused concrete building and gave it new life.
The center hosts contemporary art shows and musical performances that draw people from different backgrounds throughout the year. Screenings and learning sessions keep the space active and engaging for visitors of all ages.
The center is conveniently located at Calle Jeronimo de Aguilar and features an on-site shop with art books. Family-friendly activities are regularly offered to visitors of all ages.
The underground building uses vertical channels and curved openings in the roof to bring natural light inside. This design approach was inspired by the surrounding trees and creates an unexpected brightness below ground.
