Puerta de Alarcones, Medieval city gate in Toledo, Spain
The Puerta de Alarcones features stone walls with a right-hand turret and an internal staircase leading to upper defensive positions along the city walls.
This gate, belonging to the Visigothic fortification period, received its designation as a National Monument of Spain alongside other Toledo gates in December 1921.
The structure earned recognition as 'bien de interés cultural' for its representation of medieval military architecture and defensive systems in central Spain.
