Karhusaaren taidekeskus, Art center in Espoo, Finland.
Karhusaaren taidekeskus is an art center housed in a mansion by the sea with dining spaces, a salon, and a boat pier. The building contains artist studios, a fully equipped kitchen, and can accommodate around 100 people for events.
The building was constructed in 1890 as the Sinebrychoff villa following Italian Renaissance design patterns by architect Karl August Wrede. It was later converted into an art center to support artistic practice in the region.
The center hosts artists and professionals working in visual arts, painting, graphics, illustration, and photography. Visitors can explore active studios and interact with creators, making it a living space where artistic practice happens daily.
The center is located at Karhusaarenpiha 5 and is easily accessible from Espoo. It works well for art visits, cultural events, and private functions, with parking and waterfront access available on-site.
The mansion was originally a wealthy family's private residence and still preserves the elegant room layout of that era. Its direct waterfront location with a boat pier creates an unusual connection between artistic space and maritime access.
