Tapiolan keskustorni

Tapiolan keskustorni is a 13-story office building with a distinctive enameled steel exterior that rises about 50 meters above the garden city of Tapiola. Commercial and dining spaces occupy the lower levels, while upper floors contain office areas for various businesses.

Architect Aarne Ervi designed this tower, which began construction in 1958 and was completed in 1961 as one of the first modern high-rises in Espoo. It became a landmark for the newly planned garden city of Tapiola in the post-war years.

The rooftop restaurant was once a popular gathering place offering views over the surrounding garden city, reflecting how locals used this building as a social hub. It became an important meeting spot that shaped the leisure activities of residents in this planned community.

The building stands in the heart of Tapiola and serves as a clear visual landmark for visitors navigating the area. Lower floor spaces are generally accessible during business hours and offer cafes and restaurants where you can stop for a meal or drink.

The building's rooftop restaurants served as filming locations for several Finnish films and television productions over the decades. Many visitors today do not realize this architectural landmark appeared in numerous productions that became part of Finnish popular culture.
