The museum opened its doors on September 29, 1997, under the leadership of Environment Minister Saifuddin Soz and Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh.

Located near Shahpura Lake in the Environment Complex, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 AM and 6 PM.
The museum features a specialized bio-computer and research room designed specifically for children to study natural sciences through hands-on experiences.
