Antiquarium, Archaeological museum in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy.
The Antiquarium displays over 8,000 artifacts from ancient Stabiae, including frescoes, sculptures, and everyday objects from Roman villas.
Founded by archaeologist Libero D'Orsi in 1958, the museum preserved discoveries from excavations conducted on Varano Hill during the 1950s.
The museum's eleven rooms contained significant collections of Roman art, including frescoes depicting Greek myths and bronze objects from local necropolises.
Located in a former middle school building, the museum operated until the late 1990s before its collection transferred to the new Stabia Archaeological Museum.
The collection features intricate stucco decorations and wall paintings from Villa Petraro, showing ancient athletes and landscape scenes from Roman times.
