Museo Civico Archeologico, Archaeological museum in Città Alta, Bergamo, Italy.

Museo Civico Archeologico is located in Bergamo's upper town and presents finds from different periods: Bronze Age objects, Egyptian sarcophagi, Roman inscriptions, and Lombard artifacts. The rooms are organized by theme and show how people in this region lived at different times.

The museum began in the 16th century from a collection first stored beneath the Palazzo della Ragione. In the 20th century, the collection moved to the Visconti Palace, where it has been displayed since.

The collection displays objects spanning from the Bronze Age through early Christian times, offering insight into the local past. These artifacts come from the region and tell stories of people who lived here centuries ago.

The museum sits in Bergamo's upper town and is easy to reach on foot by walking up the steep streets. It helps to allow time for your visit, as there are multiple themed rooms with many objects to see.

The collection was enriched through donations from local collectors like Count Paolo Vimercati Sozzi, who gave their private finds to the museum. These contributions allowed the museum to continually grow and improve its holdings.
