Teatro Nuovo Montevergini, Theatre and former church in Seralcadio district, Palermo, Italy.
The Teatro Nuovo Montevergini occupies a religious structure featuring a single nave with barrel vault decorations representing the Glory of the Franciscan Order.
Built in 1498 as Santa Maria delle Grazie di Montevergini monastery by Luisa Settimo, the complex incorporated the medieval church of Sant'Elia dei Latini in 1563.
The 150-seat theater emerged from a 2005 renovation of the former church, now hosting chamber music concerts and theatrical performances in its apse-located stage.
The performance space measures 7 by 8 meters with a height exceeding 6 meters, providing excellent acoustics for musical and theatrical presentations.
The exterior facade, designed by Andrea Palma, displays statues of Saint Rosalia and Saint Clare alongside the emblem of the Second Franciscan Order.
