Teatro Nuovo Montevergini

Teatro Nuovo Montevergini is a theater housed in a former monastery building with a single chapel whose vaulted ceiling displays Baroque paintings of the Franciscan Order. The performance space sits in the former choir and accommodates around 150 people with good acoustic properties.

The building was originally a monastery founded in the late 15th century and went through several changes before being converted into a theater space in 2005. The renovation preserved the religious structure while transforming it into a modern performance venue.

The name honors the Virgin Mary and the Montevergini family who supported the original monastery. Visitors can see the Baroque decorations on the walls today, which tell the story of the Franciscans and reflect the religious life of earlier times.
