Santissimo Salvatore, Palermo

The Santissimo Salvatore is a baroque church in central Palermo with an oval floor plan and a central dome. The interior walls are covered with detailed frescoes and colorful Sicilian marble.

A Byzantine monastery originally stood at this location in the 11th century. The current baroque church was built as a completely new structure at the end of the 17th century.
