THE MALL瑞穗16, Einkaufszentrum in Japan
THE MALL Mizuho 16 was a shopping center in Mizuho, Tokyo, that operated from 2002 to 2022 and housed over 60 stores along with restaurants and cafes. The building featured wide corridors, bright lighting, and a straightforward layout, with a grocery store on the ground floor that was open 24 hours.
The shopping center opened in 2002 as part of Seiyu, a major retail chain, and was the company's newest project at that time. After operating for about 20 years, it closed in 2022 due to changing shopping habits and the rise of online commerce.
The center served as a gathering place where neighbors and families regularly met for shopping or leisure time together. Many local shopkeepers greeted regular customers by name, creating a warm community feeling that made visitors return again and again.
The center was easily accessible by car with about 1800 free parking spaces and also offered regular bus connections to nearby train stations and neighborhoods. The grocery store on the lower level was open around the clock, while other shops operated from morning until late evening.
The center offered free shuttle bus service to visitors since it was situated somewhat away from main train lines, allowing a visit without parking stress. This service made it especially convenient to reach for people across the area, including neighboring parts of Saitama Prefecture.
