Noyamakita-Rokudōyama Park

Noyamakita-Rokudōyama Park is a large green space spread across Musashimurayama and Mizuho with many deciduous trees. Pin oaks, sawtooth oaks, and Japanese snowbells grow throughout the grounds and change color with the seasons.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government established this park in 1988 as a recreational space. The creation reflected the region's commitment to preserving green areas for public use.

The Satoyama Experiential Area lets visitors help with traditional Japanese farming by managing rice paddies, crop fields, and forested areas alongside local volunteers. This hands-on work connects people directly to rural life rhythms.

The park has restrooms, parking areas, baby-changing stations, and wheelchair rentals at several locations. Visitors should allow enough time to explore different areas at a comfortable pace.

The park preserves a traditional Edo period house with an irori hearth, surrounded by working rice paddies and ponds that still operate today. This combination shows how rural Japanese landscapes functioned historically and continue in practice.
