Manju-ji

Manju-ji is a Buddhist temple in Kanaikemachi featuring traditional Japanese architectural elements set within natural surroundings. The grounds contain several structures and areas arranged according to classical temple design principles.

The temple was founded in 1306 by Ōtomo Sadachika during a period when Buddhism was expanding across Japan. This establishment was part of a broader movement that created religious centers throughout the region.

Inside the temple is a large Amida figure permanently fixed in place due to its substantial size and historical importance. This imposing statue has endured for centuries and remains remarkably intact.
