The Kitamura Museum holds a collection of 1,000 works, including thirty-three Important Cultural Properties and nine Important Art Objects displayed in a traditional setting.
Founded by businessman Kinjirō Kitamura in 1975, the museum officially opened its doors to visitors in 1977 near the junction of Kamo and Takano Rivers.
The museum building features Shikunshien sukiya architecture with traditional elements such as a tea room, waiting area, and roofed passages designated as cultural properties.
The museum opens from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM during spring and autumn exhibitions, with admission fees of 600 yen for adults and 400 yen for students.
Among the treasured artworks, the museum displays the Spring 1227 portion of Fujiwara no Teika's Meigetsuki and scrolls depicting Kite and Crows by Yosa Buson.
