Zenno-ji

Zenno-ji is a Buddhist temple complex in Tsurugashima with two main halls. One hall features a copper roof and houses numerous Buddha statues, while the other is covered with large weathered roof tiles.

The temple was founded in 642 and houses a Buddha triad from India that arrived through the Paekche kingdom in Korea. This artwork shows the ancient connections between the temple and distant lands.
