Zenno-ji, Buddhist temple in Tsurugashima, Japan.
The temple complex features two main halls, including one with a copper roof housing numerous Buddha statues and another with large weathered tiles.
Established in 642 AD by Yoshimitsu Honda, the temple houses an Amida triad that arrived from India through the Paekche kingdom in Korea.
The temple functions independently from specific Buddhist sects and welcomes people of all social standings, genders, and beliefs for worship and contemplation.
Local visitors gather at the temple during spring to view the cherry blossoms, while autumn brings the fragrant flowers of kinmokusei bushes.
The temple includes a modern octagonal ossuary constructed with roof tiles specifically imported from Kyoto for this structure.
