大阪府立旭高等学校, Highschool in Japan
Osaka Prefectural Asahi High School is a public school in Osaka with spacious classrooms, a library, music rooms, and sports facilities spread across a larger campus. The school offers two main programs: a regular course and an international course with instruction in multiple foreign languages including German, French, Chinese, Korean, Italian, and Spanish.
The school was established in 1952 and was initially called Osaka Prefectural No. 48 High School before being renamed in 1953. The international course was added in the 1990s to provide expanded language opportunities, and in 2021 it was renamed the international culture course.
The school in the Asahi district takes its name from the neighborhood where it stands. Visitors can observe how students from different programs interact on campus and how the school emphasizes cross-cultural understanding through its daily activities.
The school is near several train stations including the Tanimachi Metro line and the Keihan line, and is accessible on foot. Visitors should allow 10 to 15 minutes walking time from the nearest stations and can also use local bus lines to reach the campus.
The school has exchange programs with schools abroad, including Adelaide High School in Australia. Students take trips to countries such as China, South Korea, Australia, and Indonesia to gain practical experience in international settings.
