Sakuranomiya Park

Sakuranomiya Park stretches along the Okawa River with approximately 4,700 cherry trees that create pink tunnels during spring bloom. The park connects multiple districts of Osaka and provides open green areas, walking paths, and rest spots throughout its riverside layout.

The park was founded in March 1923, transforming what was once a castle town area into green space for the growing city. This early development helped establish connecting green corridors across urban neighborhoods.

In spring, people gather under the cherry trees for hanami celebrations with food stalls and traditional activities by the riverbank. These gatherings create a lively social rhythm that draws both locals and visitors seeking to share in the seasonal tradition.

The park has multiple entrances near Sakuranomiya Station and offers free access throughout all seasons. Visitors can walk on well-maintained paths and find seating areas distributed across the grounds for resting.

Visitors can experience cherry blossoms from different vantage points, including elevated bridge views and boat rides along the Okawa River. This combination of land and water perspectives makes the blooms visible in unexpected ways throughout the park.
