Myoonji

Myoonji is a temple on Shikoku island that forms part of the 88-temple pilgrimage circuit with traditional Buddhist architecture and garden grounds. The main building features classical design elements and sits within natural surroundings that reflect Japanese temple aesthetics.

The temple was established as the 70th Fudasho Okuno-in station within the centuries-old Shikoku pilgrimage network during Japan's period of Buddhist expansion. Its position in this established route made it a significant stopping point on the spiritual journey.
