Shirō Ōtagaki Museum, Biographical museum in Kinosaki Onsen, Japan
The Shirō Ōtagaki Museum stands next to the Kinosaki Ropeway entrance, displaying artifacts and documents about the first president of Kansai Electric Power.
The museum, established in 2000, commemorates Shirō Ōtagaki, who funded the construction of the Kinosaki Ropeway in 1963, transforming local tourism.
Through photographs, personal items, and documentary videos, the museum presents the life achievements of Shirō Ōtagaki and his influence on regional development.
Visitors can access the museum from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with closures on the second and fourth Thursdays, and admission is free of charge.
The museum location provides direct views of Kinosaki while displaying the history of the man who made mountain access possible through the ropeway.
