Makuhari Seaside Park

Makuhari Seaside Park is a waterfront recreational area in Mihama-ku covering 72 hectares with expansive lawns, multiple playgrounds, and paved pathways running along Chiba Bay. The layout is flat and open, making it simple to walk around and explore different sections throughout the grounds.

The park opened in April 1987 as a turning point in the Makuhari district's development. This transformation brought public green space to a coastal area that had been undergoing rapid urban growth and change.

The Japanese garden section showcases a traditional pond design that brings together mountain, river, and forest elements in a single landscape. Walking through it reveals how locals value the balance between water, plants, and open space.

The park is located at 2-116 Hibino and connects directly to Kaihin-Makuhari Station through the south exit with clear multilingual signs to guide you. The flat terrain and wide paths make it easy to navigate on foot, and you can move between areas without worrying about steep slopes.

A large flower bed shaped like a clock face sits within the park, decorated with seasonal blooms and surrounded by structures that resemble sea creatures. This playful design element is something many visitors discover while walking through the open spaces.
