Saion-ji

Saion-ji is a Buddhist temple in Nanbu, surrounded by ancient cedar trees, with traditional wooden structures that reflect Japanese Buddhist design principles. The grounds include several buildings arranged to integrate with the natural landscape.

The grounds connect to Senbonmatsu-namiki, a street lined with around one thousand pine trees, which ranks among Japan's most celebrated pine tree avenues. This long tree-lined path offers a memorable walk when leaving the temple grounds.
