田浦梅の里

Taura no Ume no Sato is a public park in Yokosuka that contains over 2,000 plum trees of different varieties, including white Kaga and blue-stemmed types. These trees spread across the grounds to form an expansive flowering landscape, particularly striking during the spring blooming season.

The park was founded in 1958 when 700 plum trees were first planted, establishing the foundation for this natural destination. Over the following decades, the collection expanded significantly, making the location a central natural attraction in the region.

This location is recognized as the only plum grove on the Miura Peninsula and appears on Kanagawa's list of 100 notable flower destinations. Visitors come to experience the sight of blooming trees and walk among the flowering branches during the spring season.

The park is easily accessible by public transit from JR Taura Station or Keikyu Taura Station with short walks afterward. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since visitors often spend time exploring the grounds and enjoying the views.

The grounds feature athletic facilities and climbing structures such as nets, pipes, and climbing hills that add a play element to the visit. These installations make the location more than just a flower destination and provide visitors with varied activities to enjoy.
