Ikego Housing Area and Navy Annex

The Ikego Housing Area is a residential complex for U.S. Navy personnel and their families located in Zushi within United States Fleet Activities Yokosuka. The installation features schools, shopping facilities, and recreation areas that serve the needs of military households stationed in Japan.

The site originated as a Japanese naval facility that was converted into an American military installation following the end of World War II. This transformation marked a shift in regional control and military presence in the postwar period.

The Department of Defense Education Activity operates Ikego Elementary School within the complex, educating children from military families stationed in Japan.

Access to the complex is controlled through multiple gates with set operating hours and security procedures. Visitors need appropriate identification and should plan ahead when visiting the installation.

Located 43 miles south of Tokyo, this installation represents the largest overseas United States naval housing facility in the Western Pacific region.
