The museum, established in 1999, stands on a hill that served as a refuge for Christians during the Edo period of Japanese history.

The museum maintains a collection of 10,000 picture books, including works from Japanese artists like Aya Omichi and international illustrators.

Visitors can access the museum from Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 and 17:30, with entry fees of 300 yen for adults and 200 yen for students.

The first floor houses a dedicated children's bookstore called Fairy Tale Hall, where visitors can browse without paying an entrance fee.
