Camp Narashino, Military garrison in Yakuendai, Japan.
Camp Narashino is a military garrison in Yakuendai that serves as a base for multiple branches of the Self-Defense Force. The facility houses training grounds, administrative quarters, and residential areas spread across the site.
The site was established in 1872 when the Imperial Japanese Army created a training ground there. It replaced pasture land that had been used during the Tokugawa period.
The base organizes annual foundation day ceremonies that bring together the Ground Self-Defense Force and Air Self-Defense Force units stationed at the facility.
Access to the base is restricted since it remains an active military facility. Visitors need special permission and authorization to enter the grounds.
The facility features an 80-meter parachute training tower that serves airborne units and naval air cadets for specialized jumping exercises. This tower is one of the main training installations for parachute operations in the region.
