Gunma Prefectural Museum of Literature in Commemoration of Bunmei Tsuchiya

The Gunma Prefectural Museum of Literature contains manuscripts, personal items, and exhibitions dedicated to the works of Japanese author Bunmei Tsuchiya.

The museum opened its doors in July 1996 as a center for preserving and showcasing the literary heritage of Gunma Prefecture through Bunmei Tsuchiya's contributions.

The museum houses extensive research materials about the Manyoshu anthology, reflecting Bunmei Tsuchiya's deep study of traditional Japanese poetry collections.

Located within Kamitsukenu Haniwano-sato Park, the museum offers parking for 50 cars and maintains operating hours from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, closing on Tuesdays.

The reading room provides access to original manuscripts and research documents, allowing visitors to examine Tsuchiya's writing process and literary development.
